"Underground Pass" Quest Guide

To complete the "Underground Pass" quest in Old School RuneScape, you need to have completed the "Biohazard" quest and have level 25 Ranged and level 50 Thieving, although the latter can be boosted. You'll also need various items: a spade, a bow, several arrows, a rope, a lit lantern or light source, food, and combat gear. Start by speaking to King Lathas in East Ardougne Castle, who will direct you to the entrance of the Underground Pass. The entrance is located in West Ardougne, near the gnome battlefield. Upon entering the pass, you'll encounter a series of dangerous obstacles and puzzles. First, you'll navigate through a series of agility obstacles, including balancing on a ledge, crossing a pit, and climbing over rocks. It’s recommended to have high Agility to minimize the risk of falling and taking damage.

Next, you'll come across a series of traps and puzzles. Use your spade to dig through the mud piles to find the path forward. You'll need to shoot an arrow at a hanging rope to create a bridge to cross a gap. Further in, you'll face a series of traps including spikes, grids, and falling rocks. Pay close attention to your surroundings and use your Thieving skill to disarm traps when possible. After navigating these obstacles, you'll reach a series of rooms with puzzles involving levers and switches. The goal is to unlock the doors leading deeper into the pass. This part can be tricky, so carefully read any inscriptions or hints provided in the environment.

Eventually, you'll come to a large cavern with a bridge. You must defeat various enemies along the way, including Paladins and Giant Bats. Bring plenty of food and combat gear to handle these fights. Use your rope to swing across gaps and continue progressing through the pass. The final section involves navigating through a maze of tunnels and defeating the demon Iban. You'll need to locate and destroy four different "Iban's Shadow" items scattered throughout the tunnels to weaken Iban's power. Once weakened, use the Doll of Iban, which you obtained earlier in the quest, to defeat him. After defeating Iban, climb up the well and make your way back to King Lathas to complete the quest. Your rewards include 5 Quest Points, 3,000 Attack experience, 3,000 Agility experience, 15 Death runes, 30 Fire runes, and the Iban Staff, which has a powerful magic spell. Additionally, you gain access to the Underground Pass and the ability to wield Iban's Staff.
