jomoOSRS
Starting out in Ranged, it’s crucial to understand the basics of training this skill effectively. At level 1, you'll begin by using a shortbow and bronze arrows to attack low-level monsters like chickens and cows near Lumbridge. These creatures have low hit points and pose minimal risk, allowing you to get a feel for the combat mechanics while collecting feathers and cowhides, which can be sold for a small profit. This initial phase will quickly carry you through the first few levels. From levels 1 to 20, you should consider moving on to stronger creatures such as goblins and rats in Lumbridge or Edgeville Dungeon. Use an oak shortbow and iron arrows to increase your damage output. Training at these locations allows for continuous combat without much downtime. At this stage, prioritize hitting consistently to maximize your experience per hour, and make sure to pick up any valuable drops to help fund better equipment as you level up. Once you reach level 20, switch to a willow shortbow and steel arrows. At this point, it's efficient to train on higher-level monsters like Hill Giants in the Edgeville Dungeon or the Varrock Sewers. These monsters offer more hit points, allowing for longer uninterrupted training sessions. It's also beneficial to complete the "Animal Magnetism" quest to obtain Ava's Attractor, which automatically collects your arrows and reduces ammunition costs. At level 40 Ranged, equip a maple shortbow and adamant arrows. This is also a good time to start training at locations like the Fire Giants in the Waterfall Dungeon or Moss Giants on Crandor. These monsters provide decent experience and valuable drops. Remember to utilize safe spots where available to minimize damage taken, and bring food for healing. Completing the "Big Chompy Bird Hunting" quest around this level allows access to the Ogre bow and Brutal arrows, useful for specific training methods. Reaching level 50 Ranged unlocks the use of the yew shortbow and rune arrows. This significant upgrade in your arsenal allows you to take on more formidable foes. Training on Blue Dragons in Taverley Dungeon or the Blue Dragon task in the Heroes' Guild is highly effective due to their high hit points and valuable drops. Ensure you have an anti-dragon shield and a supply of food or prayer potions to manage damage. If you prefer a more AFK method, consider training on Lesser Demons in the Karamja Volcano. At level 70 Ranged, you can start using the powerful black d'hide armor and a magic shortbow with amethyst or rune arrows. This is also the level where you can begin using the blowpipe, one of the most efficient weapons for training Ranged. Use mithril or adamant darts with the blowpipe and train on high hit point monsters like Dust Devils or Nechryaels in the Catacombs of Kourend. These monsters provide excellent experience rates and valuable drops, including noted rune items and herbs. From level 75 onwards, consider using the toxic blowpipe or the Armadyl crossbow. The toxic blowpipe, combined with high-tier darts, offers one of the best experience rates in the game. Train on strong monsters like Aberrant Spectres, Greater Demons, or even bosses like Vorkath if you are looking for profit alongside experience. Alternatively, the Armadyl crossbow with broad bolts is effective for training on Slayer tasks, providing both experience and valuable Slayer points. Once you reach level 85, focus on maximizing your experience rates by training on high-level Slayer tasks such as Abyssal Demons, Smoke Devils, or even Kraken. These tasks provide high hit point monsters that give substantial experience per hour. Utilize the best available equipment, such as the Dragon hunter crossbow for dragons or the twisted bow for high-level bosses, to maximize your damage output. At level 90 and beyond, your training should revolve around the most efficient methods available. Continue using the toxic blowpipe with the best available darts for the fastest experience. High hit point monsters like skeletal wyverns, rune dragons, and bosses like Zulrah or the Chambers of Xeric provide both excellent experience and profitable drops. Additionally, complete the "Mourning's End Part II" quest to access the Zalcano boss in Prifddinas, which offers a great balance of experience and profit. Reaching level 99 Ranged is a significant achievement that not only grants you the prestigious Ranged Skillcape but also demonstrates mastery over one of the most versatile combat styles in Old School RuneScape. With careful planning, efficient use of gear and ammunition, and strategic training methods, you can achieve this goal in a rewarding and enjoyable manner.
